The Blue Refuge is a cute, newer, 2 bedroom 1 bath home about 2 blocks to the beach in the Four Sisters Neighborhood. This home has been thoughtfully shared and is a great affordable choice for a small group. It has everything you would need for a fun and relaxing beach trip including WIFI and you can bring the dog too! This house is very near the Kiwanda Community Center making it a great place if you have an event planned there.

This area is a small (about 25 homes), newer development of homes that are have consistent architecture and were designed for family vacations at the beach. Summary: My family of four stayed here in April and it was really nice to have a house within walking distance to Pelican Brewery and beach access. The house was clean and well-kept though we were glad to be here in the spring when the lack of AC wouldn’t be an issue. The home had plenty of extra bedding, including an air bed, and the beds were comfortable. Right away we noticed an issue with the toilet taking over 45 minutes to refill its tank after flushing. We notified the management as soon as possible but despite trying a few suggestions we could not fix the issue ourselves and resorted to refilling the tank with a large bowl when necessary. Our second day we spent on the beach and when we came back in the late evening we noticed that the hot water had run out after one shower. We had four people staying in the house and everyone needed to shower, so we waited for it to warm up again but it never did. We called management again to report this problem and request that it be fixed. Management offered to move us to another home that night and mentioned discounting our stay due to the issues. It was almost 9 pm so we opted not to move houses and management promised to schedule maintenance as soon as possible to have the issue fixed either that night or the next morning. I asked to be notified when they scheduled someone to fix it so we wouldn’t be surprised and I was told to expect a return call within a few minutes. At 9:00 the following morning I had not heard from management about anyone coming to fix the hot water so I called them again but didn’t get a set time since they were still working to arrange for maintenance. We decided to go to Tillamook for the morning and returned to the house after lunch. At that time the hot water was back and a few of us could finally shower, however after two showers the water was turning cold again. We thought we had just used the hot water and it would come back so we waited but it never did. The next morning we tested it again before checking out to see if we could shower but the hot water was still not working. At check-out I informed the management and they took all the information about our stay and said they would be in touch about what they can offer for compensation for the stay. I am waiting to be contacted by management and will update this review when that happens.
