This apartment has a relaxed luxury vibe in a neighborhood full of families and young professionals. Across the street is an amazing playground to bring your kids. Next to the playground is Roosevelt Park which features a large field for your dog and basketball courts, tennis courts, and a ball field for you and your family to enjoy. In less than 10 mins you can walk to the Old North End's amazing restaurants. In 20 mins you can walk to downtown Burlington and Church St.
The Flat! We've put love, energy, (and way too many trips to the hardware store) into this space so that you and yours can have a relaxing time while visiting Burlington.
If entering from the back parking area, you'll be lead up onto the private patio equipped with a retro style metal patio table and seating for 6. Just inside the back door is a small mudroom that a previous owner thought would be a nifty addition. It's been painted and slightly redesigned to hold jackets, umbrellas (provided!) and even two bicycles (not provided).
From there you'll enter the master bedroom. This room is designed with a cloud in mind. White, soft, and with just enough light coming through. Black out blinds help too! An incredibly comfortable king bed with a number of pillows to choose from will nearly guarantee you wake up refreshed. A large closet, built in shelves, hooks, and a leather chair in the corner are all great spots to hang or toss your clothes at the end of the day.
In the kitchen you'll find a large wooden table with seating for 6. The chairs were sourced from a local vintage shop (Barge Canal Market). They found these beauties in an old church and estimate them to be over 100 years old and made of solid VT maple. When you sit down in one, it sounds 100 years old, but rest assured they're strong. Next to the table is a coffee and tea bar. You can choose to make your morning cuppa with a drip coffee maker, a French press, or an AeroPress. Dairy free coconut creamer from surf legend Laird Hamilton is delicious and available on the shelf above.
The kitchen comes equipped with everything you'll need for cooking, entertaining, and cleaning up. A dishwasher, cooking pans and utensils, flatware, kids plates and utensils (even chopsticks!), a blender, organic spices, and cookbooks. We went through our own kitchens to make sure we thought of everything.
Off the kitchen you'll find the bathroom. This was a near complete remodel. It isn't huge, but we find it well stocked and peaceful. In here you'll find towels of all sizes, organic shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, a hairdryer, and more.
*Please note: this unit has an on demand hot water heater. It can sometimes take about 1 minute to heat up.
Next to the bathroom door is the front door (with a nifty peep hole), which leads you to a shared entryway.
Next up is the Golden Room. One of our favorites. The yellow wall color is called "Geographic Yellow" which matches the color used for National Geographic magazines. In this room we've nestled a twin daybed, with a pull out trundle bed below, and tons of pillows. Sunlight coming in from the windows behind the bed has been referred to as "magical." You'll also see a nice desk and chair for working remotely. A closet and hooks are provided in this room as well.
Down the short hallway the living room opens up. We imagine if you're not in the kitchen, you'll probably be in here. This space was made for relaxing. The amazing couch is called the "dream sofa". It is simply two twin beds on a customized frame, put together with body pillows and linen sheets. It's a real crowd pleaser. The color is a nod to the Golden Room. This sofa makes up the final two sleeping areas.
We've also included a record player and vinyls with many artists from Elton John and David Bowie to Toto and Peter Frampton. In the built in shelves and around the room you'll also find a number of books, board games, a leather dog bed, battery powered candles, a 50" TV with Netflix, and another desk and chair (just in case you need to work a bit before relaxing).
*Lastly, a note for parents: We've tried to make the space as child and baby friendly as possible (we're parents as well). We've included a high chair, pack n' play with bassinet, outlet covers, eating plates and utensils, etc. but care should still be taken in The Flat. The dining chairs are foldable so watch for pinched fingers if moving them. If you need to move breakable things or some of the cacti, or the antique apple ladder in the hallway, no worries we understand.
