Positive: --The two staff, Anuar and Rizal, are very friendly and helpful. For instance, they kindly provide an electrical plug adapter, as this is a problem in Malaysia (where the standard plug type is Type G, with three rectangular pins in a triangular formation). --The availability of good filtered water, cold or hot, for free. --The reception desk and area is great, quaint, well decorated, for travelers to meet or to use their computers. It also has a nice panoramic view on the street, and a shelf full of books left by former visitors.

Negative: --The oldness and lack of windows with a view, in the sleeping room. --The sobriety of the shared toilet and bathroom, with limited flow of water and too short hose for showering. --The address of the GH is confusing, for guests or for taxis, repeating numbers and street name (1-20, 2-20,3-20, JALAN PM 3, PLAZA MAHKOTA 1-20, 2-20, 3-20 JALAN PM 3, PLAZA MAHKOTA, 75100 Melaka). The GH and Booking.com should also provide an indication like "it is close to" (name of a bigger street or of Mahkota Parade shopping center). --The name Lavender@Guesthouse also created a problem when filling up the MDAC visa form, as it was rejected. After a dozen attempts, I realized that it worked by simply and clearly writing "Lavender Guest house" (GH in two separated words). Foreign guests should be avoided this kind of useless stress and waste of time.

Summary: Friendly, well located place which needs some renovations.
